Why?

During the state of alarm, decreed for the management of the COVID-19 pandemic, Fide launched the Labor Crisis Cabinet, a professional reflection group led by María Emilia Casas Baamonde, Professor of Labor Law and Social Security and President Emeritus of the Constitutional Court. Member of the Academic Council of Fide. This group has been analyzing the successive and numerous Royal Decree Laws, approved in the emergency, during the state of alarm.

The Cabinet has met seven times and during its meetings it has addressed the labor and social security measures, which have acted jointly, in the substantive, procedural and procedural order, contained in the emergency legal regulation, analyzing the techniques and institutions of this Labor and Social Security Law in emergencies, both in the confinement phase and in the “de-escalation” phase towards normalization.

The group formulates a first proposal submitted for debate and reflection by prominent professionals who develop their professional activity in the field of Labor Law and Social Security, from companies, academia and professional offices.
