Postmodernity or sublimity: The creation between two worlds. By Ana Vivas.

Ana Vivas (Madrid in 1958) began her steps at the El Prado academy under the tutelage of painters Manuel Martínez, Paco Molina and Jorge Pedraza; This starting point will be the final point for an initiatory contact with the arts and the beginning of the career of this artist from Madrid. Since 1995, there is a significant leap in production and the birth of a style of its own is glimpsed: it begins its particular path towards the total dissolution of figuration and the explosion without barriers of stain and color.

In this artist's work, everything is at the disposal of the devastation of color, the definitive channel of her emotional, spiritual and projective universe. Color is essence and existence, it is towards itself and in itself: without a doubt, the absolute motor of a creation without ties. Color is the force of light, it is an inner impulse of the artist and is, at the same time, a connection with the outside. His creation is prolific in landscapes of enormous sublimity, expansive and passionate, at the same time introspective and charged with enormous intimacy; the inevitable liberation from the essentiality that underlies the whole.

The landscapes of Vivas are part of public and private collections of a national and international nature and have passed through prestigious auction houses such as Segre, Castellana or Ansorena. Among its numerous recognitions, the Collado Mediano First Prize for Painting, Second Prize in the XV Villa de Parla National Contest, Diploma of Excellence for the artistic trajectory of Grupo Proarte y cultura, Accésit Contest Small Madrid Box Format or Second Prize I Prize of Abstract Art Mario Saslowski. Among the numerous exhibitions, the ones held Sotheby's (London), Adolfo Suárez Museum (MAST, Ávila), Maes gallery (Madrid), ProART gallery (Madrid), in Art and Art Gallery (Madrid), Club 567 stand out. (Madrid), Opsteker gallery (Durgerdam and Amsterdam), at ARTI gallery (Amsterdam), latest solo exhibitions at the Ávila Provincial Council in 2017 and at the Infantado Palace in Guadalajara in 2018. As a curator and cultural promoter, Vivas has carried out exhibitions in the Community of Madrid, both in Navacerrada and Collado Villalba, in his particular interest in expanding the knowledge of contemporary art and the incalculable legacy that avant-garde art has meant.
