New call for the Modular Program and Master in Science and Law 2022-2023

"It is time to build the path so that the Law is placed next to science and technology because only in this way can it respond to the challenges that the avalanche of new scientific and technological knowledge is generating in the societies of this Third Millennium ."

The new call for proposals opens Modular Program and Master in Science and Law developed by the Foundation Fide, UNED and the Garrigues Foundation.

The new edition will be held between December 15, 2022 and June 15, 2023.

Among the various meanings of the term Science, is the one that defines it as a set of knowledge obtained through observation and reasoning, systematically structured and from which general principles and laws are deduced, with predictive capacity and experimentally verifiable. The Tax It can be defined as the set of principles and norms, expressive of an idea of ​​justice and order, that regulate human relations in every society and whose observance can be coercively imposed. Both concepts are united in the title and in the content of this Modular Program in Science and Law, which offers through its sixteen modules, four different degrees, three Specialization Diplomas of 30 credits each in Law and new technologies. as Intellectual property, patents and data protection and in Security and cybersecurity and a Master's Degree, of 60 credits, in Science and Law.

Continuous technological advances and the generation of knowledge transform societies and companies and pose a challenge for society and for governments, which are obliged to ensure that this new knowledge is properly applied and contributes to the progress of a sustainable society that supports the technological and scientific development in general, while respecting the fundamental rights of people and the principles of democratic coexistence. Each new scientific knowledge must have a legal response in accordance with these rights and principles. These advances are key to the competitiveness of the country, its companies, and society.

It is time to build the way for the Law to be placed next to science and technology because only in this way will it be able to respond to the challenges that the avalanche of new scientific and technological knowledge is generating in the societies of this Third Millennium.

This Modular Program in Science and Law offers specialized training in highly relevant and topical topics for professionals and companies and allows the acquisition of theoretical-practical knowledge that will allow the student to form a specialization profile in accordance with their personal or professional interests.

This course is developed in collaboration with the Garrigues Foundation, Foundation for Research on Law and Business (FIDE) and Science and Law Commission, created by both foundations.

Methodology and activities

The methodology of this course is that of the National Distance Education University (UNED), based on distance learning, which allows the student to follow the course regardless of their place of residence (in Spain or in the abroad), making it compatible with other work and personal responsibilities.

This Modular Program is taught through the virtual platform alF of the UNED and the student will obtain adequate training through printed and audiovisual materials, online tutorials and virtual activities.

Duration and dedication

The Courses included in this Modular Program have a duration of six months and are taught from December 15, 2022 to June 15, 2023.

Specialization courses are assigned 30 ECTS credits. The Master is assigned 60 ECTS credits.

In all the casos hours dedicated to evaluation and self-study are included.

This Modular Program is organized and structured to be compatible with other professional and personal activities.
