Founder Director of Ario Advisory, a UK-based responsible investment advisory firm. With an investment, pensions, risk, and governance background, he was a NED at Brunel (LGPS) for nearly four years and advised the House of Commons EAC for their 2018 Green Finance inquiry. He supported DWP with the climate provisions of the Pensions Bill, now Act. An actuary, he represents the profession (IFoA) on the Oxford Smith School’s Sustainable Finance Advisory Council. Recent work includes co-convening the RWCS (Real World Climate Scenarios) initiative which challenges the technical adequacy of the NGFS (and CBES) climate scenarios. His talk at this year’s IFoA conference: “Loss and Damage – A Call to Action to Actuaries” identifies what may be the final frontier on climate change risk management. He regards the earth as currently uninsurable.
