Senen Barro is a Scientific Director of the CiTIUS-Research Center in Intelligent Technologies of the University of Santiago de Compostela. He was born in As Pontes (A Coruña, Spain). He graduated in Physics at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) and he obtained his Ph.D. with distinction in the same university. He is a former rector of his university from 2002 to 2010. He is the scientific director of the CiTIUS-Research Center in Intelligent Technologies of the USC and he is the author of seven books and over 300 scientific papers, mainly in the field of Artificial Intelligence. He is one of the founders of Situm Technologies, a spin-off of his university.
