Maria Cristina is a lawyer with over 15 years of experience in Corporate Sustainability and Sustainable Finance. She holds an MBA from EAE Business School and has completed studies in Project Finance at IE Business School.
She has strong expertise in the sustainability evaluation of companies, financial instruments and investments. In addition, she has in-depth knowledge of European regulations on sustainability disclosure and sustainable finance.
Maria Cristina began her professional career as a State Attorney in Peru. Later, she shifted her focus and joined the sustainability department of Compañía Operadora de Gas del Amazonas (COGA), a major player in the region in the transport of natural gas through pipelines. There, she worked for more than 7 years designing and implementing the corporate sustainability strategy and leading on-site social and environmental management, as well as the company’s reporting process.
In 2017, Maria Cristina moved to Madrid to pursue an MBA. She later joined EQA, an ESG certification body, as Head of the Sustainable Finance, where she led the launch and development of this area in Spain and Latin America.
Currently, she serves as Head of Sustainable Finance for Spain & Portugal at EthiFinance, an ESG Rating Agency, leading the practice across both markets
