With Fide’s Oxford/24 Congress a couple of months away, we talk with members of its scientific committee to better understand the goals and topics that the congress will cover.

Gonzalo Yebes, Senior Financial Risk Expert at Banco de España and Member of the Scientific Commitee for the #FideOxford24 Congress, interviews Stephanie Maier, Global Chief Sustainability Officer at GAM Investments.

Beginnings of sustainable finance and nowadays trends in this area, highlighting key points and key dates such as the Paris agreement. Net zero transition is still a really driving theme. In the last few yaers, we’re seeing a lot more of focus from investors. As there’s a great appreciation of these issues and social issues and the role of companies and the financial system.

During the interview, they discuss about the origins of sustainable finance, highlighting key points and key dates such as the Paris Agreement. Also, net zero transition, a really driving theme, is addressed, wondering how investors should be looking at it and how to integrate it into their portfolios, mentioning the huge reallocation of capital that it will require and the risks and opportunities that will bring.

In addition, they treat the role of policy and regulation plus the role of public institutions regarding these trends. Lastly, they talk about these trends within private investors after the boom in 2020 and if this is still happening.
