Letizia TOMADA is a postdoc researcher at the University of Copenhagen and an Italian qualified lawyer. She conducted her PhD research within the EIPIN – IS Joint Doctorate programme at Max-Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition and at the University of Alicante. Previously, she gained professional experience in international law firms specialised in IP. She holds an LL.M in IP Law from the Queen Mary University of London and a summa cum laude law degree from the University of Trieste.

Girish has a techno-legal background having worked in Infosys Technologies Ltd, Hewlett Packard and Jindal Global University-Sonipat in India. He has  degrees in Telecommunication Engineering from VIshweshwaraiah Technological University and an Intellectual Property Honours law degree from IIT- Kharagpur. Masters in Business Law was pursued at Freie University- Berlin.

Candidate in Law of Internet Technology at Bocconi University. Adèle graduated from the Double Degree in French Law – Italien Law, speciality International and European Law at Paris-Nanterre University and obtained also, the Laurea Magistrale in Guirisprudenza from the Alma Mater Studiorum of Bologna. She has professional experiences in Law firm specialized in digital economy, IP rights and improved her knowledge in Civil and Corporate Law, especially as a junior jurist in the Notary’s office Tassinari & Damascelli, in Bologna. Raúl RUIZ RODRÍGUEZ

Graduated in Law from the University of Alicante. Master’s Degree in Legal practice (University of Alicante) and Master’s Degree in Teaching (Miguel Hernández University). He has held several research grants, including an «Initiation to Research» scholarship in the area of Private International Law at the University of Alicante, where he is currently working on his doctoral thesis with a contract from the Ministry of Universities.

Currently providing consulting services for the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), Athena previously worked at Hogan Lovells as a trade mark lawyer. She has a bachelor’s degree in law (University of Alicante), a masters degree in Intellectual Property ( University of Alicante, Magister Lvcentinvs) and another in International Business (European University of Madrid – online postgraduate programme). Her passion for IP began when she participated in the IP investigation project of the University of Alicante, UAIPIT.com, while she was studying her degree in law.

Dorottya PAKU

Ph.D. candidate (Institute of Comparative Law and Legal Theory, University of Szeged, Hungary)
She graduated from the University of Szeged (Master’s degree in Law), thereafter she gained professional experiences in a local law firm. Currently she is a Ph.D. student of the Institute of Comparative Law and Legal Theory at the University of Szeged and she is attending a Master in German Law and Legal Translation which is a joint Master Program (LL.M) between the University of Szeged (Hungary) and the University of Potsdam (Germany). Her Ph.D. research focuses on international and European IP law contexts of the modern arts, especially legal issues of appropriation art. She is a member of the Hungarian Copyright Forum Association and a blogger of Copy21 Blog which is one of the best-known IP blogs in Hungary and honoured by the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office. Dorottya is also interested in design law and she took part as a research assistant in an empirical research of Prof. Estelle Derclaye (University of Nottingham, United Kingdom) which research examined the protection of designs in the national case law of the EU Member States.

Carlos MUÑOZ FERRANDIS

Carlos is a lawyer and PhD Researcher at Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, focusing on the interactions between open source and standards, from an IP and competition law angle. Aside from his PhD, his research targets AI/open data, regulatory sandboxes and blockchain. Relating to blockchain, he collaborates with both Utrecht University (under the framework of the Blockchain for Societies SIG), and with the Stanford RegTrax Initiative, a project of CodeX, The Stanford Center for Legal Informatics (Stanford Law School). Beyond academia, Carlos is the co-founder of HIGH – High Technology Law Forum and member of the Lvcentinvs Blog.

Javier LÓPEZ-GUZMÁN

Javier López-Guzmán is a legal researcher at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB – Belgium). He is a doctoral candidate of the Law, Science, Technology and Society (LSTS) research group since October 2020. Javier has worked in the team of the Data Protection Officer of the European Union. Before that he worked in the legal private sector as a legal assistant in Finnova, a foundation for innovation in Brussels, and at the law firm Cremades & Calvo Sotelo Abogados in Madrid.

Anastasiia KYRYLENKO

Anastasiia Kyrylenko, LLM, is PhD Candidate at Universities of Alicante (Spain) and of Strasbourg (France) in the framework of EIPIN Innovation Society programme (H2020-Marie-Skłodowska-Curie Action). Her main research interests include international IP law and regulation of IP in trade agreements. She takes additional interest in geographical indications and design law. Anastasiia is also consulting the Ukrainian government on the intellectual property reform, as part of the Reform Support Team at the Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture.

Eetu HUHTA

Ph.D. Candidate (University of Eastern Finland)
Ph.D. candidate in law at the UEF Law School, University of Eastern Finland. Eetu holds a Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) from Uppsala University. Currently, Eetu is an early-stage researcher at the UEF Law School. He has also received research grants from the Niilo Helander Foundation and the Finnish Cultural Foundation. His main research interests are copyright law, digitalization and intermediary liability. In his doctoral research, Eetu focuses on intermediary liability for illegal content online, especially within the EU legal framework.

Lawyer specialising in intellectual property. She studied at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Université Panthéon-Assas (Bachelor’s Degree in Law), Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Master’s in Legal Practice) and Universidad de Alicante (LL.M. Magister Lvcentinvs).  She has experience in law firms, the EUIPO and the EPO. She is also pursuing a PhD in International Private Law focusing on the effects of the democratisation of 3D printing.

Lara FARRUGGIA

Ph.D. Candidate (University of Valencia) – LLM in International Studies and European Union (University of Valencia)
Lawyer IP specialist and PhD candidate – University of Valencia Her PhD research concentrates on the problematic legal issues concerning the origin of the products at the international and the EU level. In the EUIPO, she dealt with trade mark examination and appeal files, while she attended to Innovation Support in the EPO Academy. She holds law degrees from the University of Pisa and the University of Alicante, as well as a LLM in International Studies and European Union (University of Valencia) and a LLM in Legal Practice (University of Palermo).

Maurizio CRUPI

Ph.D. Candidate (University of Alicante / Maastricht University) – Magister Lvcentinvs (University of Alicante)
Maurizio Crupi holds a master’s degree in Intellectual Property law from University of Alicante, as well as a law degree from Bocconi University (Milan). After his studies, Maurizio has gained professional experience in law firms and at the EUIPO, drafting decisions on trademarks and designs matters. Starting from September 2017, Maurizio is conducting his doctoral research on geographical indications at Alicante and Maastricht Universities, with a thesis aimed at analysing the link between products’ characteristics and their geographical area.

Magali CONTARDI

Magali Contardi is an Italian qualified lawyer practising in the field of Intellectual Property. She is also working on her PhD research in Intellectual Property, Artificial Intelligence and Medical Devices, affiliated to the University of Alicante under the supervision of Prof. Manuel Desantes and Prof. Benedetta Ubertazzi, visiting researcher at the Max Planck Institute For Innovation and Competition Law (Munich, Germany, 2018-2019). She is IP lecturer at the Master in Business, Law and Public Manager (GEMP) University of Pisa, and teaching assistant at the Intellectual Property Course, LM in Law, University of Pisa. She is also part of the research group Pa-thos (led by City, University of London together with Association of European Science and Technology Transfer Professionals) focused on IP protection at hospitals. She holds law degrees from the Università degli Studi di Firenze and the Catholic University of Argentina, as well as a Master in Business Law and Public Manager (Università degli Studi di Pisa), a LLM in Intellectual Property Law (University of Alicante) and a Specialization in Artificial Intelligence & Intellectual Property (University of Strasbourg).

Degree in Law from University of Alicante (Spain) and Master’s degree for access to the legal profession. French-American Lawyer with extensive experience in Corporate/Commercial Law. Member of the Observatory of the Social and Ethical Impact of Artificial Intelligence (OdiseIA).

Yulia BORISOVA

Doctor in law (Moscow Lomonosov State University) / Master in Internet Technologies (Bocconi University)
Yulia Borisova holds a law degree with honors and a PhD from the Moscow Lomonosov State University (Russia). She has practiced law for more than 10 years working for major international law firms (focusing on capital markets transactions and corporate matters) and banks (supporting with cash, trade and custody products). During her LL.M. in Law of Internet Technology studies at Bocconi University, Milan (Italy), Yulia became interested in intellectual property law, which is a fundamental pillar of the challenging internet technology era. Issues relating to protection of software by patents and copyright seem to be of particular importance in many sectors.  Yulia is a winner of the the 2020 4iP Council Research Awards for her paper on Patentability of Computer Programs in Europe

Master of Intellectual Property Law (Southwest University of Political Science and Law). Xiao Baiyang is a PhD student in the field of Intellectual Property Law at University of Szeged (Hungary). He holds Bachelor Degree in Law and master degree in Intellectual Property Law from Southwest University of Political Science and Law, Chongqing, China (PRC). His PhD research focuses on Online Platform Governance concerning Copyright Liability of Online Intermediaries at the international level.

Arielle ABERDEEN

Master in Internet Technology (Bocconi University)
Arielle Aberdeen is an Attorney-at-Law specialised in the common-law legal system, with an LL.B. from the University of the West-Indies and L.E.C. from the Hugh Wooding Law School. She has extensive litigation experience in a wide range of legal areas and spent more than four years working with Judges at the Supreme Court of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. She decided to expand her profile by completing an LL.M. in Law of Internet Technology at Università Bocconi. Through this master, Arielle deepened her knowledge of Intellectual Property law and how connected it is to technology and development.
