Within the framework of the GET-2, Fide’s sustainable finance think tank, the Oxford/24 Congress, Driving Change: Exploring Opportunities and Challenges in Accelerating Sustainable Finance, was held last week at Jesus College, Oxford.
During the three-day Congress, professionals and experts from the financial sector, representing public and private entities, as well as academic and regulatory institutions from Spain, Latin America, and various parts of Europe, had the opportunity to discuss, debate, and share ideas and solutions for the challenge at hand: accelerating the transition to more sustainable finance to achieve the goal of decarbonization.
Gathered at Jesus College, the congress featured 13 roundtables and keynote presentations where attendees heard from the leading voices in the sector and participated in debates based on their insights. Regulators, financiers, ESG specialists, academics, consulting firms, and public entities all worked together to contribute pragmatic solutions aimed at achieving goals that go beyond their business objectives, in favor of society as a whole.
Upcoming report and conclusions paper
Our work continues! All the participants are now working on preparing a document that will compile the main conclusions and proposals drawn from the three days of the congress, which promise to be relevant to private and public actors both now and in the near future. Additionally, we will have the opportunity to present the conclusions of this congress at the IV Ibero-American Responsible Investment Congress on October 21 and 22 in Chile.

En el marco del GET-2, el think-tank de finanzas sostenibles de Fide, se celebró la semana pasada el Oxford/24 Congress; Driving change: exploring opportunities and challenges in accelerating sustainable finance en el Jesus College de Oxford.
Durante los tres días que tuvo lugar el Congreso, profesionales y expertos del sector financiero provenientes de entidades públicas y privadas, así como académicas y regulatorias de España, Hispanoamérica y distintas partes de Europa tuvieron la oportunidad de conversar, debatir y compartir ideas y soluciones para el reto que se les presentaba: acelerar el paso hacia unas finanzas más sostenibles para lograr el objetivo de la descarbonización.
Reunidos en el Jesus College de Oxford, el congreso contó con 13 mesas redondas y presentaciones en las que los asistentes pudieron escuchar a voces líderes del sector y participar en debates a partir de sus intervenciones. Reguladores, financieros, especialistas de ESG, académicos, firmas consultoras, entidades públicas, todos ellos trabajando juntos para aportar soluciones pragmáticas para lograr objetivos que van más allá de sus objetivos empresariales y de negocio en pro de la sociedad en su conjunto.

¡Nuestro trabajo continúa! Todos los intervinientes están trabajando para sacar adelante un documento que reúna las principales conclusiones y propuestas extraídas de los 3 días de congreso, las cuales prometerán ser relevantes tanto ahora como en el futuro próximo. Además, tendremos la oportunidad de presentar las conclusiones de este congreso en el IV Congreso Hispanoamericano de Inversión Responsable durante los días 21 y 22 de octubre en Chile.
